Staff attendance
Staff check themselves in and out; managers can record attendance and absences for the team.
Staff attendance works just like children's — a history of check-ins, check-outs, and room moves — so you always know which staff are present and where. You'll find it on the Staff page.
Checking in and out
- Staff can check themselves in and out. When checking in, they pick the room they're working in.
- Owners and managers can check any staff member in or out, and move them between rooms.
Recording a staff absence
Owners and managers can mark a staff member absent:
- On the Staff page, find the staff member and choose Mark absent.
- Set the Start date and End date.
- For part of a day, set a Start time — a partial-day absence covers a single day from that time onwards.
- Choose a Reason:
- Out sick
- On holiday
- Annual leave
- Training
- Maternity leave
- Personal
- Other
- Add any Notes (optional).
A staff member can't be marked absent while they're checked in, and absences can't overlap.
What's not here yet
Meadow tracks staff presence, but it doesn't yet calculate worked hours, timecards, or payroll, and it doesn't yet check staff-to-child ratios automatically. The attendance history is the foundation those features will build on.
